Table

Overview

Table is a chart type for data visualization in a regular table. It is the default type for a report container.

Steps to follow

  1. Create a workflow with a Result Table processor or a Filterable Result Table (FRT)
  2. Create a new report for the workflow
  3. In the report add a new Container by clicking "Add Report Container" or by double-clicking in the empty canvas
  4. Select a processor with the data that should be visualized
  5. The type of the container by default is "Table"
The column order can be changed by drag and drop within the table.

Configuration

Result Table

1. Select a chart type

    Change the current chart type.

2. Data Manipulation

Filter shown data. it's possible to add a filter for each column.

3. Column Order

Displays the current order of the columns. To change the order, drag and drop the column in the table container. To reset a changed column order, click on the button "Reset".

4. Format Headers

The headers of the columns and the rows are editable. The font size, font style and font color can be changed.

The default column width is also adjustable.

5. Format Cells

Change the format of the table cells (font size, font style and font color).

6. Conditional Formatting

In the conditional formatting section, cells can be formatted according to certain rules (click on the '?' button to show formatting options).

7. Grid

Tick this options to show or hide the horizontal and vertical lines in the table container.

8. Summary Calculator

Add a summary calculation toolbar in the table container.

9. Format Data

Used to alter one or multiple columns in the table without changing the corresponding data. Add new Format Groups, select the format and add the target columns.

10. General Chart Container Settings

Change the background color and and chose whether to display the container title.

Filterable Result Table

1. Select a chart type

    Change the current chart type.

2. Data Calculation

It's possible to apply additional filters using an SQL statement. This statement is applied after regular filters and before sorting and ordering. The usage of SQL may impact the performance.

By toggling Row Statistics, additional information about the table are shown (total number of rows, number of filtered rows, pagination).

Note that the detailed information can reduce the performance.

3. Filter Sync

Select the subscribed Filterable Result Table for this container.

4. Column Settings

Columns contained in the result table are shown with the assigned type. The first button (filter) is used to enable/disable filters, sorting and aggregation. The second button (eye) is used to hide a column in the table container.

5. Show Summaries

Select on of the following options:

        > Show results

        > Show ratio summary

        > Show distinct summary

6. Format Headers

The headers of the columns and the rows are editable. The font size, font style and font color can be changed.

The default column width is also adjustable.

Enable edit mode. The edit mode allows the usage of Advanced Input Tables (AIT) accessible in view mode.

14. General Chart Container Settings

Change the background color and and chose whether to display the container title.

Extra Information and Features for FRTs

Boundaries

  • If the shown data relates to a Filterable Result Table (FRT), only 50.000 entries can be viewed in the table container, due the restriction of the maximum page size.
  • If Custom SQL is used in the Data Calculation at a Filterable Result Table (FRT), it is no longer possible to filter for changed columns.

Pivot Table

Overview

The Pivot Table Chart allows a reorganization and summary of the data, flexible configuration according different aggregation levels, computation of multiple statistics (Count, Mean, Sum, etc) and highlight important insights using the integrated Heatmap or Barchart feature.

Steps to follow

  1. Create a workflow with a Result Table processor or a Filterable Result Table (FRT)
  2. Create a new report for the workflow
  3. In the report add a new Container by clicking "Add Report Container" or by double-clicking in the empty canvas.
  4. Select a processor with the data that should be visualized
  5. Switch to edit mode
  6. Open the chart menu and change the type to "Pivot Table"
  7. Drag and Drop the columns to the correct Position (Grouping columns)
  8. Select columns (type: numeric) for aggregation
  9. Choose a function to summarize the data (Sum, Average, etc)
  10. Choose a desired order.

Note that there is no fixed Data Structure required for Pivot Tables

Configuration

Result Table

1. Data Manipulation

Filter shown data. it's possible to add a filter for each column.

In case of an FRT configuration, this section is replaced by a Data Calculation section.

2. Title

Set a title for the table. Configuration information can be shown in the title by toggling the button.

3. Layout Configurations

    Shows to control buttons:

        > Show Calculation layout button

        > Show Configuration layout button

4. General Chart Container Settings

Change the background color and and chose whether to display the container title.

In the Pivot Table visualization, three different layout modes are shown :

  1. Configuration layout
  2. Calculation layout (shown only for FRTs)
  3. Pivot Table layout
