Gauge Chart

Overview

On the Gauge Chart, also known as speedometer chart, the value for each needle is read against the colored data range or chart axis.

A Gauge Chart consists of a gauge axis (which contains the data range, color ranges, and intervals markers), needles, and a center pivot point.

Steps to follow

  1. Create a workflow with a Result Table processor or a Filterable Result Table (FRT)
  2. Create a new report for the workflow
  3. In the report add a new container by clicking "Add Report Container" or by double-clicking in the empty canvas.
  4. Select a processor with the data that should be visualized
  5. Switch to edit mode
  6. Open the chart menu and change the type Gauge Chart
  7. Set the mandatory field (Value Column)

Configuration

1. Data Manipulation

    A filter can be added for every column in the dataset using the "Plus" icon. After selecting a column, the filter type can be chosen (filter by set or by interval).

Every filter is editable by clicking on the pen icon or removable by clicking on the garbage bin icon.

A mouseover hint at the filtertype-icon shows the current selection.

2. Value Column

    Select the column which should be displayed in the Gauge Chart.

Set three stops in the chart visualization:

            > 0. stop

            > 1. stop

            > 2. stop

For every stop in chart it is possible to configure the value of the color range and the specific color of the range.


3. Size & Position

    Select the Size and the Y-Position of the Gauge Chart by dragging the slider or entering a number in the field.

4. Value Styling

    Change the style of the displayed value by altering the font size, font style and font color.


5. Value Suffix

    To add an additional text to the shown value enter the information in this field. It is possible to format the text's font size, font style and font color.


6. Minimum Value

    By entering a minimum value, it is possible to alter the scale and therefore the appearance of the Gauge Chart.

Once set, the interval markers are shown in the chart axis.

The output value is represented as 50% of the scale by default.


7. Maximum Value

    By entering a maximum value, it is possible to alter the scale and therefore the appearance of the Gauge Chart.

8. Format Data

    Used to alter one or multiple columns without changing the corresponding data. Add new Format Groups, select the format and add the target columns.


9. General Chart Container Settings

    Change the background color and and choose whether to display the container title.











Generic Traffic Light

Overview

The Generic Traffic Light Chart allows to display a traffic light symbol.

The visualization format is based on cell values. A column and a unique identification value have to be selected.

  2. Create a new report for the workflow
  3. In the report add a new Container by clicking "Add Report Container" or by double-clicking in the empty canvas.
  4. Select a processor with the data that should be visualized
  5. Switch to edit mode
  6. Open the chart menu and change the type Generic traffic light
  7. Set the mandatory fields (Value Selection and coloring)

Configuration


1. Data Manipulation

    Filter shown data. it's possible to add a filter for each column.


2. Value Selection

    Define a value column and a unique value to identify the target cell.


3. Coloring

    3.1. Formatting Rule

        Add a new rule by entering the rule name.

    The new rule is now added and can be edited

    3.2. Formula

        Conditional formatting rules are defined in terms of formulas. 

Formatting options are accessible by clicking on the '?' icon.

    3.3. Icons

        Select the colors of the first, second and third icon

    3.4. Background

        Change the background color and border color of the traffic lamp in the report container.

    3.5. Orientation

        Choose between horizontal (left to right) and vertical (top to bottom) orientation.

    3.6. Border Size

        Select the size of the border lining of the traffic light.


4. General Chart Container Settings

    Change the background color and and chose whether to display the container title.


KPI Visualizer

Overview

The KPI Visualizer is used to display Key Performance Indicators.

The container shows any value in the data by selecting specific columns and rows.


Steps to follow

  1. Create a workflow with a Result Table processor or a Filterable Result Table (FRT)
  2. Create a new report for the workflow
  3. In the report add a new Container by clicking "Add Report Container" or by double-clicking in the empty canvas.
  4. Select a processor with the data that should be visualized
  5. Switch to edit mode
  6. Open the chart menu and change the type KPI visualizer
  7. Set the mandatory fields (Column for first value and rows to display)

    Choose between a column by column or row by row layout to display values.


3. Default Style

    Change the default font style for displayed values.


4. Select a column for the 1st (2nd, 3rd, etc.) value

    Select the column for the shown value of the configured row. At least one column has to be selected.


5. Identify row to display

    Display the value in the first row or choose a column value to identify the target row.


6. Select a column as description

    The value for selected column and identified row will be displayed at the top of the container.  


7. Format Data

    Used to alter one or multiple columns without changing the corresponding data. Add new Format Groups, select the format and add the target columns.

    Change the background color and and chose whether to display the container title.
